Kitchen dinner
at Hordaland Art Centre

Wednesday 25 June
7 pm

Pay as you can, sign up here

Welcome to a Kitchen Dinner with Daniela Ramos Arias, Petra Rahm and Mathijs van Geest, focusing on the mediation program at Hordaland kunstsenter including the Dear Neighbour-project where they have invited artists to develop projects about, for and together with the neighbourhood of Nordnes in Bergen.

The team at Hordaland Kunstsenter will cook and serve a summer-inspired dinner, which includes an aperitif. The first drink is on the house, and after, it will be possible to purchase from the bar menu.

Through Hordaland Art Centre’s series of Kitchen Dinners exhibiting artists invite the audience to share a meal with them, while engaging in conversations related to their work. The concept is a continuation of ‘Curated Kitchen Dinners’, an initiative developed as part of Temautstillingen 2023.

About Dear Neighbour
Dear Neighbour 2024 is curated by Petra Rahm and Daniela Ramos Arias, and is part of Hordaland Kunstsenter’s programmes for Art in Public Space and Mediation. The project is supported by the Norwegian Council of Arts. Previous editions of Dear Neighbour, curated by Daniela Ramos Arias, include events and publications by Nayara Leite, Robert Carter, Maia Urstad, with Bergen Pinball Club, Frantzen&Mjanger, Sarah Jost and Mariana Murcia &  Juan Pablo Pacheco Bejarano.

Pay as you can
The Kitchen Dinner meals aim to be an accessible platform where food and conversations around the exhibition and artistic practices can be enjoyed. In order to make it accessible to as many as possible, we have a “pay as you can” offer where, depending on your possibilities, you can pay 50, 100 or 200 kr for your experience. The money goes directly to covering the costs of ingredients and hosting of the events. We appreciate your generosity.

The Bergen art scene has a reputation for being collaborative and generous.

This pre-programme is proof of that.
